Well it had to happen eventually - after 15 consecutive Chelsea gold medals, this year is the first time we received a silver gilt. Click on the video below to see if you agree with the judges...
The good news though is that Streptocarpus 'Gwen' and 'Nia' have received an Award of Merit (given to plants which are of great merit for exhibition), and 'Nerys' received a Certificate of Preliminary Commendation (given to a new plant of promise for exhibition).

Some of the new varieties to look out for are the free flowering, neatly growing Nerys (left) and the bright floriferous Caitlin (right):
