How to Propagate Streptocarpus Plants
(Taken from the introduction to our Catalogue)

Brief introduction: You can increase your stock of plants by leaf cuttings in spring or early summer. Take a fresh young leaf from the centre of a plant and place the cut end into a mixture half compost and half vermiculite or perlite. Place in a bright position out of the sun. After about one month the cutting should be rooted and shortly afterwards a new plant will grow from the base of the leaf. Alternatively, if you want more plants, cut the leaf transversely into several sections and put the lower cut face of each into a compost mixture as above.
