Cariad is a Welsh term of endearment. The upper lobes on Cariad are cyclamen purple, whilst the dominant colour on the lower lobes is beetroot purple complemented by a golden band defining the lower edge. As the flowers mature the yellow spreads inwards over the lower lobes. This variety produces up to ten blooms per inflorescence; overall the proportions of the plant are very pleasing with compact leaves and medium length flower stalks. The plant will flower from early April to late October each year.
