National Collection Varieties

Distinct flower type. Wavy lobes give it a butterfly appearance. The colour is a deep pink with white and yellow throat, and like its parent Nicola, is very free flowering.

A fairly large plant with long flower stalks. The flowers are violet-blue with deper violet veins and with a creamy yellow throat. A John Innes variety.

Deep cerise, self coloured with white throat.

A free flowering plant with tall stems and pastel blue flowers. A good strong variety. (A John Innes variety)

Magenta pink with lower petals darker coloured and veined. (A John Innes variety).

A beautiful rich velvety purple with a black throat, making a fairly compact plant.

Purple-blue freesia-like flowers. This variety will produce some flowers throughout the year in warm conditions. (A John Innes variety)

NICOLA. This was one of the first semi-double varieties. Nicola is very free flowering with a very upright leaf habit.

Large flowers, mauve, with a network of purple veining and a yellow centre. Flower type similar to Sandra.

Striking ruby, trumpet shaped flowers. Fewer but larger blooms than other varieties, carried on short stalks.
